A Message from the President

July 29, 2020

Last weekend a poorly composed handout was distributed in the mailboxes in our community illegally by some disgruntled homeowners  who were observed in this illicit activity.  This juvenile paper was full of falsehoods, mistruths, accusations, and outright lies, directed at the Board and some of the Board’s recent decisions.  The perpetrators didn’t even sign their name to their vitriolic paper.  And many of our neighbors are now very upset by this unwarranted attack on our elected officials.

Your Board of Directors conducts all of its affairs with full transparency.   Our Meadow Hills Association members are welcome to attend our meetings, provided there is adequate space given the restrictions required for social distancing in this pandemic era.  And all attendees will be required to wear masks.  Please join us for our next Board meeting which is August 5, 2020, at Jarrod Moore’s house at 6:00 PM.  But let our Secretary know if you plan to attend so that we can make adequate accommodations for you.

If you have any other questions regarding this unpleasant situation, please feel free to call or email me or any other member of the Board.  We would be glad to discuss this situation further with you.

Respectfully,
Bill Warkentin
President, Board of Directors, MHE HOA

An Announcement to All Meadow Hills Estates Homeowners

July 15, 2020

Good Afternoon and greetings from your Board of Directors!  We hope your summer is going well in spite of the challenges we are all facing in these times of uncertainty.  The Board has faced some difficult times as well, and therefore has undergone a reorganization recently that has resulted in two vacant positions on the Board.  Therefore, this announcement is in fact a letter to all homeowners asking for nominations to fill those two positions on the Board!

A nominee has to be in good standing with our community, and only one person can be nominated from each household.  The two people elected in this way will only serve out this year, but they will be eligible to run again for next year if they so choose.  Currently the Board is only meeting about once each month, and that might even decrease as the year progresses and the work load diminishes.

So, if you or someone you know is interested in being on the Board, please send in to the Secretary the name(s) nominating you or them for that position within seven days from the date of this email and website posting.  After that, no more nominations will be accepted.  Then, mail-in ballots will be sent out for voting to be returned within a specified period of time to complete the voting.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at [email protected].

Sincerely,
Judi Warkentin
Secretary, MHE HOA Board of Directors

Coyote Siting - Elkhart Street

I thought I’d share this video of a coyote in my backyard last night (04/15/2020) at 5:30 PM. Minutes before, I had been outside with four dogs ranging from 70-100# each. This coyote was fearless and effortlessly scaled our 6’ privacy fence.

Neighborhood Watch Alert - April 14, 2020

Hi Everyone,

Well, someone took the other light on a brick pillar on Elkhart.  They are not smashing the lights, they are taking the whole light off the pillar.  Have never seen anything like this... If you see something or get something on your camera, please contact Aurora Police.

Thank you,

Tri-County Health issues "Stay-at-Home" order

This order includes Aurora and is in effect through April 17

Tri-County Health Department, which manages public-health issues in the three counties in which Aurora sits, has issued a Stay-at-Home order that goes into effect at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 26. The order, which is being issued in conjunction with orders in Jefferson and Boulder counties and follows a similar order in Denver, requires that all people in each county stay at their place of residence and make every effort possible to conduct only essential activities necessary to maintain health and well-being, such as getting groceries, obtaining medical supplies or medication, and/or engaging in outdoor activities like walking, hiking or running while following other social distancing practices. Work to provide essential business and government services or perform essential public infrastructure construction, including housing, is also permitted. People at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and people who are sick are urged to stay in their residence except to seek medical care.

On March 18, the city of Aurora declared a state of disaster in response to COVID-19. The city has determined that declaring this state of disaster for Aurora is necessary for the preservation and protection of the public health, safety and welfare of its residents. Previously, the city had declared a state of emergency on March 13 which allows the city to expedite additional emergency resources to support the city's Office of Emergency Management and gives the city flexibility to procure additional essential resource, if needed.

The city would like to reassure our community that we are working closely with federal, state and local public health agencies to closely monitor the situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and prepare for a potential outbreak. We are taking action to keep our community and staff safe.

It’s critical for residents to prepare, be proactive and learn about best practices to protect your health. Health officials recommend preventive actions like social distancing and increased handwashing and disinfecting to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
